The gift of intercessory prayer is a gift from God. It is important that you know that we will pray for and journey with you in prayer.

Baptisms
At First Methodist Houston, baptism is for the young and old alike. We see baptism as a sign of the grace of God given to us before we are even aware of it.
What is Baptism?
The Rev. Taylor Burton-Edwards, a United Methodist pastor and teacher of liturgics explains that, “Baptism is the ordinary means of rebirth and initiation into the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” Through the Sacrament of Baptism, “we are initiated into Christ’s holy church, incorporated into God’s mighty acts of salvation and given new birth through water and the Spirit.”
Weddings
The congregation and staff of the First Houston Methodist Family extends to you our warmest congratulations and deepest prayers for your wedding. Our role in the wedding is to provide a loving and caring setting for the celebration of this holy covenant between you, as a couple, and Christ. We minister to members at First Houston Methodist, the setting in which your faith has blossomed. We minister to non-members with warm hospitality that treats you as one of our own. At all times we want to serve you with the love of Jesus.

Columbarium
Our columbarium is surrounded by a beautiful garden and provides a sacred place where we are reminded of the Communion of the Saints. When you finish your journey, you take your place in a great cloud of witnesses to cheer on those who are still on the journey.
